Greek Research And Technology Network S.A.

GRNET is the National Research and Education Network for Greece, providing network connectivity to all universities and research centres in Greece, and also connecting the Greek academia with the GÉANT pan-European network. GRNET has also provided computational resources, first in the form of Grid computing and more recently with Infrastructure as a Service cloud computing. In particular, GRNET has developed and provides as a production service Okeanos (http://okeanos.grnet.gr), a computing and storage cloud infrastructure that services more than 6000 users providing more than 8000 virtual machines. GRNET has significant development experience, developing software for both in house needs and in the context of numerous European projects in which it has participated. It has also developed and offers a secure, verifiable, secure, e-voting platform, Zeus (http://zeus.grnet.gr) that has been used for more than 120 elections involving more than 22000 voters to date.
